Patchway is a suburb of Bristol and is convenient for people who work in the city, as it’s only 15 minutes away by car. It’s 4 miles from Bristol Parkway station so it’s ideal if you prefer to commute by train. There are also plenty of employment opportunities closer to home.
The town has a long history of aviation manufacturing, and the Bristol Aeroplane Company’s Patchway factory was one of the first in the world to produce aircraft in large quantities. Many of the places were used in World War II and the factory was involved in developing Concorde. Since the operation closed down several business parks have been built on the site, including the Concorde Park which has commercial and industrial units, offices and hotel and a gym.
To the south of Patchway is the newer, large, mixed-use development of Charlton Hayes which provides a range of housing for around 6,000 residents, including two, three and four bedroom homes, townhouses and apartments as well as retirement and assisted living.
