A charming and picturesque village, Almondsbury dates back to Saxon times, and is thought to be the site of a old English fortress or camp. Much more recently it is also known as the birthplace of Alex Kapranos, the lead singer of indie rock band, Franz Ferdinand.
The village is home to a mix of families, professionals and retirees. It has a strong sense of community, with many local events and activities that bring the residents together. Bristol is a short commute away by car, bus or train, and convenient access to the M4 and M5 makes travelling to other parts of the country easy.
Lower Almondsbury has a popular pub and hotel, while the higher end of the village benefits from views over South Wales, the Forest of Dean and both Severn Bridges. Its beautiful rural location and good amenities make it a popular place to live for all ages.
